75 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BRYDGES, Percy Percy was born in Guelph, Ontario on April 30, 1886. He enlisted in the Army on October 20, 1915 with the 54th Battalion and also served with the 71st Battalion during World War I. He was injured by mustard gas poisoning on March 1, 1917 in the trenches at Vimy Ridge. He was taken to a casualty clearing station. He was discharged on November 20, 1917. After the war, he was a painter and plasterer. He was the father of sixteen children, eleven boys and five girls. Percy passed away on October 18, 1959. BUNN, Albert Edward Albert was born on October 1, 1924 in Weston, Ontario. He enlisted in the Merchant Navy in 1943. He served in the Pacific during World War II. He won the Oak Cluster Medals which was presented to him by King George the 6th. He served on the HMCS Cornwallis. They were torpedoed and they had to throw all the ammunition over board. He stayed until the end of the war and was discharged in 1945. He got a job at Moffats with his family then joined North York Toronto Police Department. He was a member of the Westmount Army and Navy Club. Albert passed away on October 2, 2005. BULLIVANT, H. Frank Frank was born in Peterborough, Ontario on February 28, 1914. He enlisted in the Army on July 27, 1940 during World War II and served with the Governor Generals Horse Guards in Canada as a Motorcycle and Despatch instructor. Frank was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 19391945. Following his honourable discharge on December 19, 1941, he worked for Central Aircraft Co., in London, Ontario, followed by a lengthy career with Kelvinator of Canada and 3-M Corp, until his retirement. He was a member of the Bryon-Springbank Legion Branch. Frank passed away on July 5, 1998.
