97 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CHRYSLER, Parry James Parry was born on April 14, 1966 in Parry Sound, Ontario. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 21, 1985 with the 2 Air Mov. Squadron and also served with 2 SVC BN and 436 SQN. He joined as a Traffic Tech. On completion of basic and trade training, he was posted to CFB Winnipeg. In 1992 he was posted to CFB Lahr Germany to assist with the close out of CFE Europe. He served two tours to Bosnia (2001 and 2003) while posted to CFB Petawawa. He completed his CC130 Loadmaster course in 2004 and was posted to 436 (T) Sqn in Trenton where he served six tours with the Tactical Airlift Unit in Afghanistan flying over 1000 hours in theatre. He is currently the Zone F3 and District “F” Sgt-at-Arms. He was discharged on January 29, 2017. Parry has been a member of Stirling Legion Branch 228 for thirty years. CLAYTON, Alexander Frame “Alex” Alex was born in Lachine, Quebec on August 8, 1925. The family moved to Fort Erie, ON in the 1920’s to expand their brick factory business, which they lost in 1929 due to the depression. Alex joined The Queens Own Rifles of Canada on March 25, 1944 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He took part in the liberation of Holland where he was wounded. He met Janet (Jessie) Hume in Glasgow, Scotland while on leave. They were married on May 18, 1946. Alex received his release from the military on August 21, 1946 and returned to Fort Erie, followed by his Scottish war bride Jessie on November 11, 1946. He passed away on February 4, 1975 and is buried in the Veterans section at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Erie. He was a member of the Legion Branch 71. CLARK, Norman Allen “Ted” Ted was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 25, 1913. He enlisted in the Army on November 12, 1943 with the Highland Light Infantry. He served in Canada, England and Continental Europe during World War II. He was wounded by shrapnel in France on September 19, 1944. He was awarded with the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the Battle of Britain Star, the France and Germany Star and the War Medal. He was discharged on July 25, 1945 and returned to work at London Life Insurance Company Co. Ted passed away on March 20, 1971.
