101 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CAMPBELL, Duncan Earl Earl was born on July 14, 1896 in the Township of Proton, Grey County, Ontario. On February 26, 1916 while living in Barrow Bay, Eastnor Township, County of Bruce, Ontario Duncan enlisted in the 160th Bruce Battalion, CEF and at of age 22 was killed in action on October 2, 1918 during the Second Battle of Cambrai, France. At the time he was assigned to the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion and is buried in the Cantimpre Canadian Cemetery, Sailly, Nord France, Grave Ref: F10. CAMPBELL, William Henry William was born in Milton, Ontario on February 15, 1898. He was living with his parents in Courtland when he enlisted in the Army on January 4, 1916. He almost survived the war but was killed during an attack to retake the Village of Guémappe, southeast of Arras on August 27, 1918. He was 21 years old. His name appears on the Vimy Memorial to honour those who died with no known grave. CAMPBELL, Ralph Coulter Ralph was born in Perth Road, Ontario on September 24, 1913. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1941 in Kingston. He served as Radio Operator the HMCS Restigouche, HMCS Stettler and HMCS Sault Ste. Marie during World War II on the North Atlantic and Bermuda. Ralph was discharged in December 1945. He moved to Hamilton in 1949 and then to Newtonville in 1957. He was a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer. Ralph passed away on August 23, 1982.
