141 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DOBBYN, Kevin Michael Kevin was born on August 19, 1967 in Chatham, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on December 20, 1984 with the First Hussars of Canada. He was discharged on December 6, 1992. He has been a member of the Coronation Legion Branch 286 in Toronto for twelve years. DONALDSON, Charles Robert Charles was born in Corinth, Ontario on February 5, 1925. He enlisted in the Army on November 1, 1943 and served with the Essex Scottish Regiment in Canada, England, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. Charles became a Prisoner of War on February 19, 1945 and was held at “Stalag X1 B” Follingbostal, Germany, near Lower Saxony, in North-Western Germany. The British Fifth Armoured Division freed Charles and thousands of other Allied prisoners on April 16, 1945. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the France and Germany Star. After his discharge in August 1945, Charles worked for the St. Thomas County jail as a correctional officer also known at that time as a “Turnkey”. Charles was also a life member of the National Prisoners of War Association and a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 41 St. Thomas. Charles passed away on July 13, 1992. DONALDSON, Charles George Charles was born in St. Thomas, Ontario on April 17, 1956. He enlisted in the Army in 1973 with the Elgin Regiment. Charles worked in Transport “A” Squadron. He trained in Base Petawawa, Meaford and Ipperwash. Charles was discharged in 1980. He is currently working for “Formet” in St. Thomas, Ontario where he and his wife reside. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 419 Port Stanley.
