143 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DORE, Gerald O. Gerald was born on January 2, 1936 in Embrun, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on April 15, 1960 and served in Canada as a Reservist. He joined the Governor General’s Foot Guards and transferred to 9 Transport Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He went back to the GGFG where he served until he transferred to the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration, Diamond Jubilee, Silver Jubilee, SSM and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. Gerald was discharged on March 12, 1981. He was a Royal Canadian Legion member of Branch 632 and 480 before transferring to Branch 638. He is a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion. DOSTERT, Lawrence Mitchal “Larry” Larry was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 7, 1955. He enlisted in the Canadian Army as a Reservist, somehow seriously under-aged on September 7, 1970 and assigned to the 7th Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery. He was assigned for training and regular duties in Petawawa, Ontario, managing to complete his high school curriculum while doing so. All of his service years were spent in Canada, and he received his honourable discharge on April 7, 1973. Larry is currently a wellrespected member of the executive committee at Sir Sam Hughes Branch 67, Lindsay, of The Royal Canadian Legion, with three years of service to date. He resides in Lindsay. DORMAN, Richard V. Richard was born in 1910 in Belfast, N. Ireland. He enlisted in the Army in August 1939 with the Royal Artillery 8th Belfast ACK ACK Regiment. He served during World War II in England, France, India and Burma until his discharge in June 1945. Richard passed away in 1990.
