175 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FORMAN, Neil Fraser Neil, one of six children born to John and Mary, was born on April 26, 1924 in Elma Township. He was raised in Listowel. Neil enlisted in the Canadian military in 1943 in Windsor at the age of nineteen. He joined the 1st Division and saw action in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. Upon returning to Listowel two years later, Neil worked with Ontario Hydro where he spent his entire career. He married Marion Coghlin in 1948 and together they had five children. He had several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Neil was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 259 in Listowel for over seventy years and was honoured as a Life Member. Neil passed away on March 9, 2017. FOSTER, Charles W. Charles was born in Dunnville, Ontario on January 4, 1920. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 with the Royal Regiment of Canada. He served in England, France and Holland during World War II. Charles was discharged in 1947 and was awarded the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-1945 Star and the France and Germany Star. He married Edna Hadley while still in service and they had two children, five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Charles worked at Lundy’s Fencing for twenty years. He passed away on November 9, 1993 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Dunnville. FORSTER, Alan Charles Alan was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 21, 1924. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Toronto Scottish Regiment (MG) during World War II. He served in Saint-André-sur-Orne, Falaise and The Scheldt. Alan is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 217 Mimics.
