181 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND FRADGLEY, Edwin J. “Ned” Edwin was born in London, Ontario on April 13, 1925, the son of Harold and Gertrude Fradgley. He enlisted in the Navy in 1940. Ned served as a signalman with the RCNVR. After the war, he returned home to London to marry and raise a son. Ned passed away on March 13, 2007. FRADGLEY, James William James was born in London, Ontario on June 23, 1922, the son of Harold and Gertrude Fradgley. He enlisted in the Army on November 9, 1942. He served with the Essex Scottish Regiment during World War II. Private James Fradgley was killed in action on October 4, 1944 near the Dutch border. He is buried in the Military Cemetery of Bergen Op Zoom in Holland. FRADGLEY, Harold William Harold was born on May 12, 1898 in England. He enlisted in the Army in 1915. He served as a gunner with Unit D/86 Army Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery during World War I. He was discharged in 1919. Harold relocated to London, Ontario after the war with his wife Gertrude and raised six children. Two of those children Edwin (Ned) and James served during World War II. James was killed in action in 1942 and buried in Holland. Harold passed away in 1966.
