29 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ALARY, Roger Robert Roger was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on September 6, 1936. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1954 and served with North Bay RCAF Station in the Regular Force. He was discharged in August 1957. He is a 25-year member of Sarnia Branch 62 of The Royal Canadian Legion. ALDERSON, Joseph Lorne Joseph was born in Innisfil Township, Simcoe County on January 4, 1922. He enlisted in the Army on April 16, 1942 with the Queen’s York Rangers, Toronto Scottish Regiment. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. Joseph was discharged on December 7, 1945. He was a long-term employee at the Davis Leather Company, a founder of the Newmarket Seniors Meeting Place and a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 426 in Newmarket. Joseph passed away on November 16, 2000. ALCOCK, Raymond Charles “Ray” Ray was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1915. He began his service in the RCAF on August 13, 1940. In January 1941, he suffered a fractured patella and a concussion in a training crash. Ray received his Pilots Flying Badge on July 27, 1941. He was a pilot in the UK from August 14, 1941 until March 26, 1942. From September 2, 1943 until the end of the war he was a Link Trainer Instructor. Awards include Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Maple Leaf Clasp, Defence Medal and General Service Medal. On March 6, 1944 he was promoted to Temporary Flying Officer. He moved to Sarnia, Ontario after the war. Ray died in April 1975 and is buried in Resurrection Cemetery.
