61 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BENNETT, Edwin Ross Ross was born inWalton, Ontario on August 9, 1922. He joined the Army on October 29, 1942 and went to #13 Basic Training in Listowel. He did his advance training at 829 Ipperwash and was there until April 1944. Ross was injured during training in April 1943 and returned to be on staff until his discharge in April 1944. He was married in 1961 to Margaret and raised two children. Ross was a Life Member and past President of The Royal Canadian Legion Brussels Branch 218. He passed away on December 24, 2016. BENNETT, Vernon Ralph Vernon was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA on June 27, 1928. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and served in Canada and in Germany. He was discharged in 1956. Vernon was a member of Richmond Royal Canadian Legion Branch 625 for 28 years. He passed away on November 16, 1996. BENNETT, Richard Bedford “Dick” Richard was born in Elizabethtown, Ontario on February 8, 1934. He enlisted in the Air Force on February 8, 1957 and served as a Warrant Officer in the Regular Force. Richard married Lois White on June 6, 1959. He was discharged on March 8, 1984. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 625 in Richmond, Ontario for 35 years. Richard passed away in Ottawa on May 19, 2018.
