75 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BOUCHER, Leo Joseph Leo was born on March 25, 1927 in Minto, New Brunswick. He volunteered for the CanadianArmed Forces and enlisted inApril 1945, receiving an honourable discharge in September/December 1945. He volunteered when the KoreanWar erupted, enlisted on August 13, 1950 with the Canadian Armed Special Forces (CASF) and as a member of 57 Independent Field Squadron RCE he trained with 25th Infantry Brigade in Fort Lewis, Washington prior to deployment to Korea. Master Corporal Boucher rotated out of Korea in July/August 1952 and continued to serve in the RCE until retirement in October 1975 after over 25 years of service. His postings included Chilliwack, Borden, Kingston, Centralia, Kamloops and Greenwood. Leo did three arctic tours including Gander/Thule plus deployment in the 1950’s with United Nations Emergency Force. Some of his medals and service awards included the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, VictoryWar Medal, Korea War Medal, UN Medal (Korea), UNEF Medal, Egypt Medal, Canadian Forces’ Decoration, Confederations Medal and Koreans Ambassador’s Peace Medal. He spent his remaining years with Iona, the love of his life, and family until he passed in August 2016. Leo was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12 in Minto. BOURCHIER, William Fraser William was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 13, 1925. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1943. He served during World War II with the 429 Squadron (Bison) in Leeming, Yorkshire. He was discharged in October 1946. BOUDRIAS, Rene Joseph “Mike” Mike was born on June 25, 1958 in Lachine, Quebec. He enlisted with the Royal Montreal Regiment Infantry Reserves in September 1975, before transferring to the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regular Force in 1978. He served with 2PPCLI, The Canadian Airborne Regiment, 3PPCLI, before switching to a new trade as an MSE OP in 1985, where he was posted to CFB Edmonton. In 1990 he served with the Canadian Airborne Centre until 1993 followed by CFB Cornwallis as a recruit instructor until 1994. He was then posted to Greenwood, NS as the Snow and Ice Control Warrant Officer in Heavy Equipment. Mike also trained pilots in survival and weapon handling skills. In 2002 Mike was posted to Land Force Central Area Training Centre in Meaford, until his retirement in 2009. His decoration and awards include United Nations Forces in Cyprus, United Nations Mission in Haiti, (CD2) Canadian Forces Decoration 32 plus years, Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, Canadian Forces Parachute Wings and the United-States Military Parachute Badge. Mike lives in Meaford, Ontario and a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for the past twenty years, with Branch 6 in Owen Sound.
