95 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BURLEY, Ralph E. Ralph was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 11, 1922. He enlisted in the Army in October 1942. He served with the Trooper C Squadron First Hussars, 2ndArmoured Brigade at D-Day and in Belgium, France, Cussy and Holland during World War II. Ralph was discharged in May 1946. BURVILLE, William Edward “Bill” Bill was born Hamilton, Ontario on November 17, 1924. He enlisted in the Air Force on December 4, 1942 and served overseas until April 11, 1946 as a member of the 143 Wing – Typhoon Fighter, Bomber Wing. He was awarded the 1935-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Bill is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123 Waterford. BURNESS, Robert Thomas “Bob” Bob was born in Toronto on August 21, 1921. On September 4, 1940 he enlisted in the Canadian Army and served with the Victoria Rifles of Canada in the United Kingdom, North West Europe and Newfoundland. Trooper Burness was honourably discharged on October 31, 1945 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the France and Germany Star and the Defence Medal. He was a 32 year employee of Brinks Canada and a ten year Royal Canadian Legion member of Highland Creek Branch 258. Bob passed away on August 18, 1994.
