He enlisted with the Army in 1940, his service unit was C Company Stratford Highland Light Infantry. He served during World War II from 1940 until his discharge in 1946. After returning from the war he worked in Acton and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Acton Branch 197 for fifty years. Herbert passed away on June 7, 2005. COURTNEY, Morris Frederick Morris was born in West Garafraxa Township on March 9, 1913. He enlisted in the Army on July 19, 1942 and served with the Canadian Dental Corps in Canada during World War II. He was discharged on February 18, 1946. Morris was a 49year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Acton Branch 197. He passed away on December 16, 1997. COOPER, David Archie David was born on June 26, 1943 in Leamington, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on May 11, 1962. David served with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, he joined at Camp Borden in London, Ontario and was transferred to Gagetown, New Brunswick. He also served in Cyprus. David was honourably discharged on July 2, 1965. He received the United Nations and Peacekeeping Medals. David was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 84 in Leamington for 44 years. He passed away on March 25, 2010.
