129 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DICK, Milton Wilfred Milton was born October 19, 1894 in Tillsonburg, Ontario. On January 21, 1916, he enlisted with “Norfolk’s Own” 133rd Battalion, CEF He served in France during World War I. Signaler Lance Corporal Dick was killed in action on August 10, 1918 in Amiens, France. While delivering a message to a nearby officer, he was struck by shrapnel from an explosive shell and died almost instantly. DIMALINE, Hugh Wigg Hugh was born in Hawkestone, Ontario, on July 1, 1924. He enlisted in 1942 took basic training in Camp Borden. He was then posted to the Lake Superior Regiment. Trooper Hugh arrived in France on D-Day and served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. He met Yennie Nijland in Holland and they married in 1946 while he was serving in the army of the occupation. He returned to Canada in 1946 as an RSM of confirmed rank. He raised six children and drove trucks in Hamilton, Ontario for a living until he retired to Clinton, Ontario. Hugh passed away in 1983. DIENO, Anthony David Private Anthony was born on February 23, 1988 in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He is the great-grandson of Private William Thomas and grandson of Private William George Thomas. He enlisted within the Regular Forces on February 8, 2012 and was based in Petawawa, Ontario. He has received L. Col. Arsenault’s Trophy for Best Male Athlete. Anthony was promoted to LAV Headquarters in Petawawa and qualified into the selections of JTF2 but was not chosen. Anthony was discharged on February 8, 2015.
