141 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DWYER, Ambrose John Ambrose was born in South Algona, Golden Lake, Ontario, on May 23, 1933. He enlisted with the Army on April 23, 1952 and served with the Algonquin Reg, and Canadian Guards. He served in Canada and Korea, and at Camp Borden, Camp Val-Cartier, Camp Ipperwash and Camp Wainwright. Ambrose received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for Korea, Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal (Korea), Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and was discharged in May 1955, in Kingston, Ontario. He is presently living in Petawawa, Ontario. He is an active member with The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 406 and 517, and 72, for over 65 years. During his Legion service, Ambrose served as President at Branch 406 and also as Zone G-7 Commander. DYMOND, William James William was born in Cornwall, England on September 14, 1886. His first enrollment date is September 17, 1904 with the Royal Canadian Regiment and released May 11, 1914, then re-enlisted October 5, 1916 with the 236th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force and released July 13, 1919 with the rank of Corporal. DYMOND, Charles Vernon Charles was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 4, 1923. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 9, 1942 and was on the 434 Bluenose SQN. He served in England, France, Belgium during World War II. On the night of June 1213, 1944, Charles took off from Croft Air Base to bomb a Nazi Communication Site and never returned.
