Bert’s role during World War II was that of sending messages as a Morse Code Operator. GASSON, Harold Percival Harold was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 27, 1914. He enlisted in the Air Force then transferred to the Army as a cook. He later was transferred to an American Prisoner of War camp in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then cooked in a Veterans Home in Toronto. Harold was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Thedford Branch 278 for five years. Harold passed away on October 31, 1968. GARLAND, Donald Ross Donald was born on February 6, 1938 in Port Hope, Ontario. Donald enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 29, 1957 and was discharged on August 8, 1963. Donald was a millwright for CGE Cobourg. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Cobourg Branch 133 for 53 years.
