195 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HANEY, Percival Percival was born in Kinglake, Houghton Co, Ontario on February 22, 1913. Prior to enlisting with the Army on September 22, 1942, Percival was working in tobacco near Langton and living in Tillsonburg. He embarked in France on July 22, 1944 as part of the 5th Anti-Tank Regiment of the 4th Armoured Division. He was killed in action on August 8, 1944, near the French town of Moneville, east of Caen, two weeks later. He was 31 years old. HARDING, Percy Sydney Percy was born on October 17, 1912 in London, England. On July 22, 1942, he enlisted with the Army as a Reservist and served with the Queen’s Own Rifles in Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe. Percy was wounded on December 17, 1944 in Belgium and was hospitalized for six months in the Victoria Hospital. He was discharged on February 6, 1946. Percy received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defense Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and War Medal 1939-1945. Percy passed away on February 7, 1976 in Oshawa, Ontario. HARDING, Percy George Percy was born on November 11, 1950 in Oshawa, Ontario. He enlisted with the Army as a Reservist in September 1967. His branch of service was RCAC and service unit was Ontario Regiment. Percy achieved a Sr. NCO status by his third year of service. Both as a Jr. and Sr. NCO, he was troop leader in two of three summer programs. Percy was requested twice for deployment purposes to Germany within his three years of service, but only served in Canada. Percy was discharged in November 1970. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Acton Branch 197. Percy resides in Halton Hills, Ontario.
