35 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND ALLSOP, Donald Gilbert Donald was born in Woodstock, Ontario on October 20, 1929. On June 27, 1960, he enlisted with 5 Ordinance Battalion. He was then immediately transferred to the Windsor Regiment RCAC inWindsor because he was just past the age to enroll with a commission in the arms branch but could be in the service branch. He then qualified and was trained in the Armoured Corps going to Lt. Qualifying course with the 1st Hussars in Gagetown, NB. Donald was promoted to 1st Lieutenant by Windsor Regiment in early 1960 and by the mid 1960’s was promoted to Captain. Donald was assigned to work with the Cadet Service of Canada in the summers to train cadets at Camp Ipperwash. In 1968, Donald operated the summer Student Militia for the regiment at the Windsor Armories and Cedar Springs. In September 1973, he submitted his resignation to the Windsor Regiment and was transferred to the Canadian Forces Supplemental Reserve. He was presented with his CD by Honorary Col. Paul Martin MP at his final Mess Diner in December 1973. Donald then joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 Kingsville and has been a member for 43 years. ANDERSON, Keith George Thomas Keith was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on July 24, 1941. On January 27, 1960, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Keith served as a Communication Technician in France and Germany. He moved to Ontario in August 1979 and retired on January 25, 1982 as a Warrant Officer. Keith accepted an LCMM position in Ottawa as an Electronics Technologist worked in that position for twenty more years. He is serving as a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Smith Falls Branch 95. AMOS, Alfred Holland Alfred was born in London, England in 1888. He worked at a car works factory in Tillsonburg when World War I began. His married sister also lived in Tillsonburg. Alfred, being an Army Reservist, chose to return to England and enlisted in the 2nd Highland Light Infantry of Scotland on August 5, 1914, at the age of 26. Just two months later, Alfred was killed in action on October 1, 1914 inYpres, Belgium.
