113 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CARTER, George Charles George was born in London, England on June 12, 1914. He enlisted in the Army in September 1939 and served for six years in the British Army as a paratrooper in the British 1st Airborne Signals. He participated in four theatres: Africa, Italy, France and Germany. After being wounded, he spent the last nine months as a prisoner of war. He was discharged in May 1945. George resided in Perth, Ontario from 1990 until his passing on December 25, 2006. CASE, George Arwed George was born in April 1912 in Mount Albert, Ontario. His military career commenced with enlistment during World War II on July 7, 1942. He served in the Regular Force in France and Germany with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. Upon discharge in October 1947, he received his Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 382 in Mount Albert upon his retirement from his job and was a member for seven years. George passed away on January 14, 2003 and is buried in the cemetery in Mount Albert. CASE, Arthur Arwed Arthur was born on December 26, 1895 in Mount Albert, Ontario. He was a salesman prior to enlisting in the Army on September 7, 1917. Arthur had four months of prior military experience with the Canadian Defence Force. He served at the rank of Private with the Canadian Corps of Cyclists, Divisional Cyclists Company, the Canadian Militia, and 101st Regiment Edmonton Fusiliers in France during World War I. Arthur was wounded and died during battle on October 10, 1918. He is buried at Ramillies British Cemetery in France, Plot C3. There is a street in Mount Albert named in Private Case’s honour.
