141 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DALZIEL, Andrew Stewart “Stew” Andrew was born in 1954 in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in June 1958. He moved to Georgetown, Ontario and joined the 676 Lorne Scots Army Cadets in 1967. On April 29, 1969, he enlisted with the Lorne Scots Regiment as a Rifleman and deployed to Germany as a Corporal Machine Gunner in 1972. He rose through the ranks to become RSM of the Lorne Scots from October 1993 to May 1998. CWO Dalziel was appointed as the 32 Brigade Battle School RSM from June 1998 to May 1999 and subsequently 32 RSM from May 1999 to September 2003. He was appointed Land Forces Central Area Reserve NCO Advisor from September 2003 to January 2004 and then appointed Land Forces Central Area RSM from January 2004 to September 2004. CWO Dalziel deployed to Bosnia and OP Bronze Task Force RSM from September 2004 to May 2005. He became a member of the Order of Military Merit in 2005. Captain Dalziel deployed toAfghanistan on OP Enduring Freedom as the ADC Commander Police Reform with US CENTCOM from November 2006 to June 2007 and was awarded the US Meritorious Service Medal in 2007. Captain Dalziel retired after 42 years of service in March 2013. DARLYMPLE, Wilmer G. T. Wilmer was born in Tuckersmith Township, Huron County, Ontario in 1922. He enlisted with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada in 1943 and served in England, France, Holland and Germany. He was discharged in 1945. Upon civilian life, he and his wife Ella (married two days before being called to service) farmed in Tuckersmith Township where they raised their three sons and two daughters. He also worked at Northlander Industries in Exeter and General Coach in Hensall. He was a charter member of The Royal Canadian Legion Hensall Branch 468, transferred to the Exeter Branch and returned to the Hensall Branch where he became a Life Member in 1990. He was active as an Executive member on various committees and Sgt-at-Arms until his passing on March 3, 1995. DALZIEL (BEAN), Beverly Ann Beverly was born in 1957 in Brampton, Ontario. She enlisted with the Army Reserve on November 7, 1947 and served with The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment) in Canada. She spent most of her career as the Lorne Scots Chief Clerk and had a couple of Class C contracts filling in for the unit’s Regular Force administrative positions. In 2016, she received her third Clasp to the Canadian Forces’ Decoration and is also the recipient of the Canada 125 Medal, Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. Beverly received Letters of Commendations from two Commanding Officers and from the 32 Canadian Brigade Group Commander. She retired from the Canadian Forces on June 1, 2017 and is a ten-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Major Wm Dwight Sharpe Branch 15.
