143 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DAUBS, James Roy Lloyd James was born on January 17, 1891 in Parkhill, Ontario, the son of John and Jesse Daubs. James enlisted in the Army on November 29, 1915, joining the 135th Battalion. He sailed on the SS Olympic to England in August 1916. James was transferred to the 125th Battalion serving in France in December 1917. He was wounded in June 1918 and discharged on May 19, 1919. James received the British War and Victory Medal. He returned home to marry Hilda Tansley and worked for the railroad. James passed away on January 27, 1975 and is buried at the Parkhill Cemetery. DAVIDSON, Frank Frank was born in Stockton, England on July 13, 1894. He came to Canada in 1913 on the Dominion. He worked on a farm near Greenway, Ontario, McGillivray Township, Parkhill, Ontario. Frank enlisted in the Army on October 11, 1915 and sailed on the SS Lapland to England in April 1916 with the 40th Battalion. He was drafted to the 18th Battalion arriving in France on May 5, 1916. He was reported missing then killed in action in Courcelette, France on September 15, 1916. Frank Davidson’s name is on the War Memorial West McGillivray. DAVIDSON (LINNEN), Ethel Mary Margaret Ethel was born on October 13, 1913 in Esmond, Ontario. She served on Active Service with the Royal Canadian Air Force from her enlistment on October 23, 1941 until she was honourably released and transferred to the Reserve, General Section, Class E on October 19, 1945. She served as a sergeant during World War II and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Eganville Branch 353 for five years. Ethel passed away on December 28, 2010.
