157 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DOAN, William Albert William was born in Strathroy, Ontario on September 1, 1898. He enlisted to serve in the Army during World War I on May 17, 1918 with the 1st Depot Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment. Due to health issues, he was unfit for service and discharged in December 1918. Following his discharge, William returned to farming. DOIRON, Peter Roland Peter was born in Rustico, Prince Edward Island on July 22, 1937. He joined the Air Force in January 1959, but after he did his basic training in April 1959, he was told that he was not qualified for the part of the service that they were looking for recruits for, so he was given an honourable discharge from service on March 3, 1959. After coming to Ontario for employment, he joined The Royal Canadian Legion, and has been an active member at Branch 643 for 43 years. Peter currently lives in Toronto, Ontario. DOIRON, Lloyd Joseph Lloyd was born in Rustico, Prince Edward Island on December 5, 1941. He enlisted in the Army in 1955 and served in Canada with the 5th Signal Regiment until his discharge in 1962. He resides in Toronto, Ontario and is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 643.
