121 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND DAVIS (TRAHAN), Chantale Irene Chantale was born in Haileybury, Ontario on September 11, 1973 and was raised in Hamilton. She enrolled in the Canadian Forces on May 18, 1995, in Victoria, BC with Canadian Scottish Regiment. By June 1995, she was off to basic training in Shilo, Manitoba. In October 1995, she started transitioning to the 11 Service Battalion to be a cook, where she would remain until May 1996. When she moved to Hamilton, she transferred to the 23 Service Battalion. She went on her QL3 in Borden, ON where she found out that she was still with C Scot R. She was transferred upon her course completion. In 1999, she was loaded for her QI5 cooks’ course following which she went to Kingston until August as she prepared to go overseas. In December 1999, they departed for Kosovo and in May 2000, Chantale returned from deployment. In December 2001, Chantale was transferred to HMCS Star until June 2006. She moved to Windsor and joined HMCS Hunter. At this point in her career, Chantale was training cooks. She did her primary leadership course. Chantale was released in January 2013 from HMCS York. She is a sevenyear member of The Royal Canadian Legion Riverside Branch 255. DAVIS, Lewis “Pat” Lewis was born on May 5, 1897, in Stouffville, Ontario and resided in Claremont, Toronto and Markham. He served his country of Canada in World War I with the 127th RegimentYork Rangers from 1916 to 1919 and inWorldWar II for four years with the Ordnance Corps. He was husband to Rachel (Patterson) and father to Irene (King) of Oshawa, Dorothy (Boyd) of Toronto, Myrtle (Loyst) of Claremont, Helen (Schell) of Stouffville and three sons John (Jack) of Ajax, Norman of Markham and Lloyd of Stouffville. Lewis passed away in 1956. DAVIS, David E. David was born in 1880 in Glenelg Township. At the age of 19, he left Victoria, British Columbia to go to SouthAfrica where he fought in the Boer War from 1900 to 1902. He remained there for 12 years to work in the diamond mines. He married Martha Elizabeth Smith. He passed away on December 4, 1950.
