45 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BEAUDIN, Ernest Joseph Ernest was born on October 11, 1897, in Esquimaux Point, Quebec, the son of Andre Beaudin and Emelie Roussi and had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Ernest served in both World Wars. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Sudbury, Ontario on April 1, 1918 with the 1st Depot Battalion, C.O.R. He sailed to England on May 24, 1918, to serve at 2 Wing Canadian Corps at Camp Witley. He was sent to France on September 13, 1918, in Company D, 22nd Battalion Canadian-Français. Ernest was promoted to Sergeant on February 5, 1919 and was discharged on May 19, 1919. He married Blanche Ouellette on October 3, 1936 and raised two children. After enrolling in the “Veterans Guards of Canada” on July 31, 1940, in Sudbury, he served as Lance/Cpl until September 5, 1945. Ernest lived in Sultan, Ontario for 36 years and worked in Sawmills in the summer and trapped in the winter. He received the 19141918 BritishWar Medal, King George VWWI Victory Medal 1914-1919 (Inter Allied Medal), Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, andWar Medal 1939-1945 King George VI. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Espanola Branch. Ernest passed away on August 24, 1985 and is buried in Chapleau Municipal Cemetery. BEDFURTH, William George William was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario on June 7, 1924. He enlisted in the Army Regular Force in 1942 and served as a mechanic in Bordon, England until his discharge in 1946. William took up residence in Bracebridge in 2004 and is a fifty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Onaping Falls Branch 503. BEAUDRY, Germain J. Germain was born on April 7, 1916, in Verner, Ontario. He enlisted in the 3rd Infantry at Camp Valcartier on November 20, 1942 and served as a Private in Canada until his discharge on February 25, 1944. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Germain was a member of Sturgeon Falls Legion Branch 225 for 36 years. Germain passed away on October 22, 1987.
