Canada has long history as a defender of freedom and peacekeeper of the world. In the First World War, the Second World War, Korea and Afghanistan, whenever the world's most evil powers rose, Canadians were there and ready to fight. I want to applaud the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command for the vital work you do. Year after year, you honour those who have served or are still serving in our Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or Allied Forces. Through your programs, you help them transition to civilian life, and educate the next generation about our veterans’ sacrifices.
