81 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND BUXCEY, Jesse Jesse was born in Nuneaton, England on February 21, 1914. He enlisted in 1934 with the Royal Horse Artillery, 9/7th Field Army and re-enlisted in 1938 with the 1/7th Royal Warwickshire Regiment, “C” Company. Sergeant Buxcey served in Belgium in 1939 and was awarded the King Albert Belgium Medal of Loyalty as well as the 1940 Dunkirk and Normandy Campaign Medals. In 1940 in Normandy, outside of Caen, Jesse was wounded by a German stick grenade resulting in an almost fatal head injury. For military service, he was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the Campaign of the British Commonwealth, the France and Germany Star, the George VI Defence and the British George VI War Medals. In 1949, Jesse and his wife and children came to Canada. He worked as a carpenter, was very active in youth soccer and was a member of Fenelon Falls Legion Branch 238 and Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for more than ten years before he passed away on August 23, 2008. CAMERON, James H. James was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on February 12, 1921. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery on September 7, 1939 and served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge on October 12, 1945. James died on October 23, 2004. CADICK, Roy C. Roy was born in London, Ontario on June 25, 1924. He joined the Army on September 13, 1943 and served in Canada and England with No. 1 D.D. (AF) General List, 12th and 55th Battery R.C. Roy became ill with rheumatic fever and was admitted to hospital in June 1944, staying there for three months. He helped feed prisoners while in hospital and was discharged on May 1, 1946. Roy was a member of Lucan Legion Branch 540 before he passed away on August 13, 1986.
