Derek Moore
President Ontario Provincial Command
Was elected President of the RCL Ontario Command, May 14th. 2022 at the Provincial Convention, North Bay.
He became 1st.VP Ontario Command in May 2019 and served 3 years as Prov. Membership Chair. Before that, serving 4 years as an Ontario Command VP & Prov. Youth Ed Chair. Prov. Membership Chair, Prov. Cadet Liaison Officer and as a Committee Member on Veterans Services, The Homeless Program, Property Committee, Honours and Awards and Charitable Foundation Committees. He joined Capt. Frederick Campbell Branch, Br.#134, Mount Forest in 1978, serving two terms as President, two years as Branch Chair plus a variety of other Chairs. He also has served as a Deputy and Commander at both Zone and District levels.
Born in Darlington, England, immigrated to Canada in 1974, becoming a Canadian Citizen in 1978. Married to Trish and has two children, Lisa and Patrick, and five grandchildren.
- Received a Life Membership in 2009 and the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. Cert. of Merit 2015, Cert. of Appreciation 2015.
- Worked in the grocery retail trade for 25 years and for the Wellington County Catholic School Board in the Maintenance Dept. for 10 years.
- A Founding Member and still a current member of the Mount Forest Museum and Heritage Society. Active in the community for many years coaching soccer, baseball and running the Badminton Club.
- A 17 year member of the Royal British Legion Br. #1264 Darlington. In that time has attended 5 in person meetings and two recent Zoom Meetings.
- Hobbies include woodworking, darts, playing the drums and WW2 Bomber Command History
