The 50-year medal is awarded to those members, and members of the Ladies' Auxiliary who have completed fifty continuous years of membership in The Royal Canadian Legion (this includes the Canadian Legion of The British Commonwealth Ex-Services Leaque and the Great War Veterans' Association).

This medal can only be awarded on the recommendation of the members' branch and must have the approval of Provincial Command.
