Past Office Medals

Symbols and Badges Legion Medals Life Membership

Past office medals are awarded at all levels of Legion (Branch, Zone, District, Provincial and Dominion) and are worn on the right hand side of the blazer.

The medals have a designator bar which indicates the office, for which the medal was awarded ("PAST OFFICER", "PAST PRESIDENT", "PAST COMMANDER").

Medals awarded at other than branch level, will usually have a bar stating the level at which the medal was awarded ("DOMINION","PROVINCIAL","DISTRICT","ZONE")

The past president medal, or past commander medal may have the maple leaf bar signifying that the wearer served more than one term in the office for which the medal was awarded.

Medals may also have bars affixed that indicate other offices held at that level (.e.g."SERVICE OFFICER" indicating the wearer was also a veteran services chairman at the level of the medal (zone, district, provincial)).

Members, and former members of the Dominion Executive Council may have a Councillor bar for service on the Dominion Executive Council.  The councillor bar may appear on the wearer's Provincial Past Officer, or Provincial Past President, or Dominion Past Officer medal.
