97 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CHIRCOSKI, Stanley Stanley was born on March 20, 1926 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on March 11, 1944. He was still in training when demobilization occurred. He was discharged on April 3, 1946 and returned to his hometown of Iroquois Falls. He was a member of Iroquois Falls Legion Branch 70. Stanley passed away on December 22, 2013. CLEVELAND, Gerald Gerald was born in Yarmouth, NS on September 29, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on May 28, 1942. He served with the 3rd Division, A Company and the North Shore Regiment during World War II. Corporal Cleveland landed at Juno Beach on D-Day as section leader. He was wounded on the first day and returned to England. He was discharged on June 1, 1946. Gerald has been a member of Port Colborne and Humberstone Legion Branch 56 for 63 years. CLEMANCE, Cyril R. Cyril was born on May 4, 1920 in Ilderton, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 9, 1942. He was discharged on October 13, 1945. Cyril contracted pneumonia during his time in Halifax and was sent to a hotel in St. Andrews, New Brunswick to rest and recuperate. He met his wife while serving in Halifax, NS. They married, settled in Toronto, ON and had three children. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Cyril passed away on December 21, 2006.
